Biography:
Dr Astrid van der Veldt is medical oncologist at Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, a tertiary referral center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After her two PhDs in medical oncology and nuclear medicine, and her clinical training at Amsterdam University Medical Centers and Antoni van Leeuwenhoek-Netherlands Cancer Institute, she was appointed as a medical oncologist at the Departments of Medical Oncology and Radiology & Nuclear Medicine of Erasmus Medical Center. She is the principal investigator in a number of clinical trials and has published on imaging, urogenital cancers, and melanoma. She is also involved in phase-1 clinical trials with cell therapy and radionuclide therapy. She is the chair of various committees, including the Dutch guideline for melanoma, and has received several national and international awards for her research.
