Biography:
Dr Charles Kelly is a Clinical Oncologist at Northern Centre for Cancer Care in Newcastle Upon Tyne, having trained in the Glasgow and Edinburgh cancer centres. He specialises in Head and Neck and skin cancers, and initiated the Newcastle University online MSc in Oncology and Palliative Care 25 years ago and at present is Cancer Lead for the new Pears Cumbria Medical School set up by Imperial college , London in Carlisle. He has an interest in how Artificial intelligence will change Cancer management and thereby change Cancer Education.He is an elected Fellow of both the American Association for Cancer Education (AACE) and the European Association for Cancer Education (EACE) of which he is a past president. In 2023 he was awarded the President`s Lifetime Achievement Award of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BAHNO). He is at present, Chair of the UK Oral management in Cancer (UKOMiC) group.
