Biography:
Dr David Lugo Palacios is an Associate Professor in Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He has co-led the Policy Evaluation theme within the Global Health Economics Centre since 2021 and holds an Honorary Research Fellow position at Imperial College London. His current research uses real-world data and causal inference methods to evaluate, target and design health and social care policy, with applications across cancer, diabetes, integrated care, and adult social care. He is the co-Principal Investigator of SORT: Surgery Or RadioTherapy for early-stage cancer funded by the NIHR. Prior to joining LSHTM, David held research positions at Imperial College London and at the University of Manchester, and worked in the Mexican public and private sectors. David holds a PhD in Health Economics from LSHTM, an MSc. in Health Economics and Policy from the Barcelona School of Economics, and a BA in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
