Biography:
Dr Fieke Froeling is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Oncology at the University of Glasgow with an overall research focus on therapeutic development for pancreatic cancer. Her research aims to understand the complex dynamics of tumour-host interactions in pancreatic cancer, and identify novel therapeutic approaches with candidate biomarkers that can be tested in clinical trials. Clinically, she works as Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer. She is the pancreatic cancer lead of the Glasgow Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, is principal investigator of multiple clinical trials, leads the molecular tumour board for Precision-Panc, and is the UK pancreatic cancer lead in SAMBAI, the CRUK Cancer Inequalities Grand Challenge. Overall, this allows her to focus on developing personalised therapeutic strategies that emanate from discoveries in both basic science and reverse translation from clinical observation.
