Biography:
Dr Thompson graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2008. She subsequently obtained a research masters from the University of Bristol, focused on tyrosine kinase signalling in glioblastoma, before returning to Nottingham to take up an Academic Clinical Fellowship. She went on to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge, studying novel synthetic lethal interactions using CRISPR-Cas9 screening technologies, before finishing her specialist training in Cambridge. She is currently a consultant in medical oncology in Cambridge, specialising in the treatment of melanoma and thoracic malignancies.
