Biography:
Dr Kemp is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Breast Unit at the Royal Marsden and lead for Cancer Genetics.
She undertook her medical training at King’s College London and completed specialist training in Medical Oncology at University College Hospital. Her interest in Cancer Genetics was sparked through her research at the London Research Institute for Cancer Research UK where she was awarded a PhD.
She has a specialist interest in genetic predisposition to cancer and the use of genetic information in screening, early detection, and treatment. She has focused on increasing access to inherited genetic testing for breast cancer patients, both through mainstreaming and more recently through direct to patient testing in the BRCA-Direct and Retrospective Genetic Testing programmes.
She is a member of the Royal Marsden Committee for Clinical Research and holds an Honorary Faculty position at the Institute for Cancer Research. Dr Kemp is also a member of the NICE Breast Cancer Expert Faculty.
