Biography:
Vicky Hellon is a Research Programme Manager at Cancer Research UK (CRUK), working within the Research Data Strategy team, which shapes, implements and supports CRUK’s approach to the use of research data across the cancer research ecosystem. Vicky oversees CRUK’s data-related research portfolio, coordinates the biennial Data Driven Cancer Research conference and is supporting the development of the CRUK Data Science Community. She also is shaping the upcoming ‘Data Science for Cancer Research’ strategy and coordinating the delivery of its associated funding calls, including initiatives such as a training catalyst and an AI Alliance, which will bring together cross-disciplinary organisations to tackle major challenges in cancer research through data science and AI. 

Prior to joining CRUK, Vicky held roles in research engagement and community management at the Alan Turing Institute and Health Data Research UK. She also has worked in open access publishing, working with funders and institutions to develop bespoke publishing solutions for their researchers.
