Biography:
Prof Syndikus studied medicine in Munich, Germany and qualified in 1986. She trained in general medicine and oncology in Zürich, Cambridge, London (Royal Marsden Hospital and UCLH) and Vancouver Canada. Since 1996, she works as Consultant in Clinical Oncology in Merseyside specialising in prostate and bladder cancer. Past roles included chairman of the local urology network group, the CT RAD group and she was examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists for many years. She is leading national prostate and breast cancer radiotherapy trials. Her hobbies are rock climbing, walking, ski mountaineering and gardening.
